Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis Basics
Sometimes people can go for years without realizing they have MS
The symptoms of MS are varied and can include muscle weakness, tingling, vision problems or even numbness. These symptoms usually don't all appear at the same time and may not be severe when they do occur. They can also come and go over years. People may dismiss the symptoms or attribute them to other causes like fatigue. Sometimes even doctors attribute these problems on other diseases of the central nervous system which have a similar profile, like lupus. However with advances in medical imaging, particularly MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) doctors today have better tools to pinpoint the disease.
